There’s so much to process as we wrap up 2020 and get ready for the new year. There have been challenges, sorrows, changes and lots of uncertainty. But there’s also been growth, transformation and insight as we collectively braved the first pandemic in our lifetime.
Are you ready for 2021?
Before we step into the new year, we need to let go of 2020 and everything it has thrown our way. It’s only by clearing out the old that we make space for new possibilities to enter our lives. I like to spend the last few days before the end of the year in quiet reflection in an attempt to consolidate successes, achievements and lessons learnt and I invite you to do the same.
What Covid-19 has highlighted for me is that we, as a human race, have been living in a loveless world. Our economic system hasn’t been based on love, our treatment of our planet hasn’t been based on love and our treatment of others hasn’t been based on love. We have developed a dog-eat-dog mentality, prioritising the rich over the poor, getting and accumulating more, rather than being more, and it seems that all this is coming back at us.
Much of what has happened this year, all the toxicity and negativity has had a tremendous effect on us all, psychologically, emotionally, physically and financially; we have seen huge surges in anxiety, fear, anger, frustration and all types of negative emotions imaginable. So, as we step into 2021, it would be unrealistic to assume that the problem will simply disappear. What we need to do is be willing to shift our way of thinking, to become the people that we need to be, not only to endure and navigate the turbulent waters that will continue into next year, but also to become the people that are able to transform the drama. As Gandhi famously said, if we want the world to change, the preparation begins with us.
I invite you then to choose to leave all the negativity that has accumulated this year at 2020’s door. Each and every one of us has the power to be more, to rise up and live from a heart-centred space rather than from an ego-driven space so that we can all play our part in raising the consciousness of our planet. If you are infused with anger, judgement and fear from this year and you bring this into 2021, then your experience of the new year won’t be any different from what you experienced in 2020.
Be honest with yourself. What do you want to leave at 2020’s door? Anger? My government did this… Hatred? My country did that…Woundedness? He did this… Judgement? She did that… Fear? Loneliness? Selfishness? If you continue with this mindset, then whatever was ‘done to you’ will continue to recreate itself. We don’t want to dwell in self-pity, in bitterness, in victim-mode. We want to be people who can manifest and attract miracles. We live in an abundant universe where limitless possibilities abound. You can’t be the person you want to be with the toxic energies of 2020, so take time to reflect and write down what you don’t want to bring in 2021. According to A Course in Miracles, miracles are held in trust for us by the Universe, until we are ready to receive them. So I invite you to operate from a miracle mindset where everything and anything is possible. It’s up to you, up to me, up to all of us to be the change we want to see in 2021.
What are you willing to release?
Who do you want to be? What feeling do you most want to embody in 2021?
Let’s realign our energies so that we, and the world, may be transformed, healed and elevated to a higher realm of consciousness.
With much love and light
